Look out Michelle Wie!

Top Golf is something Chad and I discovered in the last year or two. It'ss a driving range golf game that anyone can play. Beginners go to have a good time....novices go to show everyone up!

Here's how it works-you buy rounds of golf and they put your $$ on a card, you swipe your card for a bucket of balls, these balls have a chip inside and they are now registered to you, then you place your golf balls on the tee and it registers that you are hitting the ball. You get points by how far you can hit it into the bullseyes that are on the course. We went with Katie and Michael since the weather has been nice. Note to self....use a wooden tee....not that plastic thing they call a tee sticking out from under the mat.

Ready to play

I was a little sore the next day from all that upper-body twisting I did!

 Perfect form Chad!!

Lining up...just about ready....

I thought this pic was neat-it shows his backswing and him hitting the ball

My Cousin Brad's Wedding

Well, I have to say that Brad and Jen's wedding location was gorgeous.  It was at a little B&B in the mountains southwest of Denber about an hour.  The got married by a stream with a rustic bridge where the wedding party walked in.  The ceremony was short and sweet and full of family and friends.  The weather had been sooooo nice since we got there, but on the day of the wedding it decided to be cloudy and drizzle throughout the day.  The weather cooperated during the ceremony, but I can't say as much for the reception.
Oh yea, the reception.  It was gorgeous too.  It was held just down the road in an old cabin like building.  It was all wood and windows.  (Sorry for thegrainy/ blurry photos-I only had my iphone at the wedding)

Congrats to Brad and Jen-we wish you all the best!

Red Rocks

You can't visit Denver and not go to Red Rocks.  If you've never hear of or seen it....it is AMAZING!!  We all loaded up and took a trip to see the visitor center, ampitheatre, and hike up into the rocks.  It was a little windy, but other than that the weather was perfect.  What a beautiful place.

Nancy Kerrigan Eat Your Heart Out

My family recently took a trip to Denver, CO for my cousin Brad's wedding.  The wedding a reception were gorgeous-but we'll get to that later.

We all had different things we wanted to do and see while there, so we tried to fit them all into 5 days.  We went ice skating (my dad's idea) at a local rink that hosted hockey leauges, but had a public skate for a few hours a day.  I must say that being from a state that doesn't get much snow, much less have hockey leauges, I was amazed at the size of these female hockey players.  A few of them resembled the Russian men athletes that were posing as women in the 1972 Olympic games!!!  They could have taken us all down!  We tried to avoid them on the ice at all costs, but falling down is just part of ice skating.  I didn't fulfill my Nancy Kerrigan dreams on the ice this time-I was outnumbered by the gargantuan women and the little kids with hockey sticks.  If someone had made me and baby fall I would have had to get ugly and I just wasn't in the mood.  I think everyone had a great time.

I'm not sure who is holding who up in this photo!

I had to get a photo on the ice even thought I didn't skate, just for posterity

The fam had a fun day on the ice.  Great idea dad!

It's Official!!!

The Canterbury Crew is growing by two feet!  Chad and I are so excited to announce that "we" are pregnant.  I am almost 12 weeks along....do the math.....the little one should arrive mid-May.  We have been waiting for this for awhile and are excited to let everyone know.  Thanks for all of your support so far-we can't wait to share this journey with you all.

I will be taking meetings with my fellow "mommy friends" on the best of everything....best day cares/schools, car seats, high chairs, diapers to use, registry items I will actually USE, and all of that other fun stuff.

Here is the most current photo of our little bundle of joy.  When we had the 10 week ultrasound it was "marching" or as I like to call it...dancing.  Arms and legs going back and forth in perfect rhythm with each other.  It already knows what an 8-count is....THIS IS MY CHILD!!

I hope you will all follow along in our journey and pray with us that everything goes according to plan.

The Year Was 1920

What were you doing in 1920?  Well Chad's dad's dad (Papaw) was being born, so he turned 90 this year.  When asked what he wanted for his birthday he said, to be with all of my family.  So, that's what we did! We all headed over to Bossier City to help him celebrate pool-side at Chad's parent's house.  We took family photos, played in the pool, grilled out, had cake and MANY other deserts, and then all had to take naps from the busy day.  Thanks for letting us celebrate with you Papaw-we had a blast!

Side bar--I think grandma knew I was pregnant that day.  We did not know until one week after the party, but she made some comments that made me think she had some insight into the situation.  Funny!!

I think this is a much better option these days

Let's Sail Away

If you know me, you know I love a good theme!  My friend Michelle is having a little boy and decided to decorate his room in sailboats and whales.....how stinkin' cute is that!  Of course this theme needed to be carried out into her shower so we could properly celebrate.  With the help of a few of her friends we hosted a voyage full of nautical goodies!

Check out this diaper wreath one of the hosts made!

The favors made by another host.
They were sugar cookies in the shape of sailboats and anchors

It was cooling down in mid-September, so
we decided to have party in my back yard.
