Snow Day!!

Yea!!!  Record shnooooo-ssse (snow) as my friend's daughter Olivia says.  We were off on Friday so we took advantage of the record snow in Dallas (13 inches) and built a few snow men.

Sadie Cat didn't know what to think of the white grass.

Black and Gold Super Bowl

Well, I must say it was a great game.  We started the day by getting off the plane in Dallas, napping for a few short minutes and then headed to the annual Corley Superbowl Crawfish Boil.  It was such a great day getting to see friends and their little ones. Congrats to all of the New Orleans Saints fans out there!

The Sandbar

Still fighting through my cold, we went to the beach on Saturday.  One of Kevin's friends just bought a boat so took us out on the boart to party.  He took us to a sandbar that was one sqare mile-no joke.  It was amazing that people set up a volleyball net and had their BBQ grills and chairs out on the sandbar all day.  I didn't get any shots of the drunken 18 year olds on the boat next to us, but I think I got some worthy of posting.  This concluded our trip to Hawaii-we flew overnight on Saturday and arrived home to greet our favorite cat on Sunday morning.  Thanks to Brooke, Katie and Miss Kella for feeding the cat, Katie for picking us up and Josh droppping us off at the airport.  We appreciate all of you!!

Aloha Friday

On Aloha Friday we did what the locals do.  Chad and Kevin played golf while Kevin's wife Susan, one of her friends and I went to the spa.  We had a great time and to top it off, Friday was Susan's birthday.  We met the guys (and lots of others) at the 19th hole for drinks and pupus (appetizers).  Happy B-day Susan!!
Vermouth anyone!?!?!?

Buried Treasure???

On Wednesday we left the North Shore and headed to our 2nd favorite spot-the logoons at the Ihilani Resort.  While there, we saw a few men with metal detectors looking for the "Treasure of the Lost Arc".  We didn't stick around to see the result, but I'm sure there was a handsome reward.  I also got some additional shots to submit for the Hawaiian Traveler magazine!!

The Sallisaw Connection

Just before leaving for the islands, I was talking with my good freind Elizabeth and found out that her parents were going to be on Oahu the same time we were.  OMG!!!  We met up with Ray and Betty Walker and had an umbrella drink near their resort in Waikiki.  It was great to see them and catch up on old times.

Lazy Day

We started our second day at Turtle Bay with a walk on the beach.  I could barely breathe, so we only walked for a little while.  We did get some good shots on the beach to share.

After our tiresome walk on the beach, I needed a rest and then some food.  We had lunch on the beach and then set our eyes on the pool.  The ocean is QUITE chilly this time of year, so I wasn't about to dip my toe in that.

After a tough day a the pool, we headed to dinner at Jamison's in Haliewa-just a short drive from the resort.  This also afforded me the opportunity to restock my medicine supply!

Only the Strong Survive

On day three we went to Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore.  This was my night stand when we arrived   :(  Yes, I got a pretty nasty cold in Hawaii.  Damn that 8 hour plane ride!!

Well, I wasn't going to let a cold get me down, so I got a massage and steamed while Chad played golf with Kevin.  I had to get out of the room, so we went to dinner on the beach at Ola.  I know, sounds like we are in Mexico right?!?!

Just some great shots of the North Shore from our balcony.  I should really work for the Hawaii tourism center.
