Go Baby Go

Sooooo, after Olivia's birthday party we made the trip up to OKC to watch the horse races at Remington Park.  My good friend Jodi's brother had a horse in the next to last race of the night for oodles of cash!!  We had a great time picking our favorite horses-from the jockey's that were wearing Kella's favorite color blue to the funny names they had-we were delighted and excited to be there!

MO turning dos

Chad and I went to Norman last weekend to visit my oldest friend Liz and her family.  Her little one was having her second birthday party that weekend at Gymboree, and we couldn't miss it.  The lady leading the party had a song about everything; the sun, putting your toys away, drum beats....you name it, and she sang about it!  Olivia had alot of little friends there and got some great gifts.  Here are a few shots from the party.

The birthday girl in her birthday shirt playing air guitar....how cute!!

All of MO's friends enjoying the parachute song without her

What a cake.....great job Liz!

The next morning at breakfast Olivia wanted to sit in everyone's lap.....for about 2 seconds.  We all passed her around the table until our arms were going to fall off.

This is where she finally ended up for a quick pic

Sooooo....some of you have heard this story and some of you haven't.  Please don't judge...I just try to get by everyday the best I can.  Sorry for the EXTRA long blog today.

I was on may way to work last week when Chad left me a voicemail saying that the tailgate on his SUV was open when I closed the garage door.  It apparently pulled his door down and was now latched to it.  His voice didn't seem upset or nervous so I continued on my way to work.  Further into my drive, Chad sent me a text message with the following picutre with the following message:

Major problem...the garage door is off the track...my car is trapped!

I have to admit....it took me a second to figure out this picutre.  But when I finally did, I knew I had screwed up BIG TIME!!  The garage door not only caught on Chad's car, but when he tried to untangle the door from his car, it pulled the garage door off the track.  With the garage door (which weighs the equivilant of a small elephant) now hanging over the top of his car Chad called in reinforcements, his buddy Donald.   I had a feeling this was going to end badly, so I turned around and headed home.  This was the absolute worst "walk of shame".  Seeing as the door was haning sideways, we had to prop it up with a 2x4 and a ladder to get it straight again.  I'm sure this is the exact technique they use on HGTV, you just don't see it on TV.  Chad also pulled his car in sideways using the "Dumb and Dumber" method so the small elephant wouldn't fall directly on the Tribute.

Here are Chad and Donald REMOVING the hinges from the garage door.  He and Donald could not get the tracks to go back on without removing some sturdy hardware.

Sooooo....I am happy to say that the garage door is somewhat fixed-can you say manual open and close????  Chad and Donald were able to remove the hinges and get the door straight again and rolling back and forth. I think we might have burned up the motor in the process, so I am using the excuse of being much too short to open and close the door to get out of having to do it....I'm horrible I know!!  Here are the saviors of the small elephant-great job guys!  Thanks to Donald for being late to work last week to become part of the the Canterbury Tales.

March For Respect

I have been a volunteer for the March For Respect in Dallas for 8 years now.  I sit on the planning committee for the event which draws more than 5,000 people to the West End each year.  Megan and I run the merchandise booth, selling t-shirts, tote bags, pedometers that don't work-you get the deal.  Anywho, we have a great time evey year and Chad returns the favor to me by working at my event to help us sell thirts.

2-Gimmie-2-Gimmie-$2000 now....

I scored some tickets to an art auction being held at the Martin Lawerence (Mot-en!) Gallery last weekend.  Chad and I had a great time people watching...there was quite an eclectic mix there.  The auctioneer was my favorite part-apparently he was a "certified" auctioneer and was quite talented.  Chad and I left empty handed, but I can't say the same for everyone at our table!

Long lost twin?!?!

If you have been reading my blog since Christmas you may (or may not) remember one of the gifts that Chad and I got Aunt Mop.  I have re-posted the picture to refresh your memory.  Welllll...while shopping over the Easter weekend my mother in law found it's twin.  She was afraid I was going to post the picture on my blog....and she was right.  I just couldn't pass up the opportunity.  Enjoy!

Family Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend with both of our families coming to Dallas to help us celebrate.  We started the weekend with dinner at Uncle Julio's-YUM!!  Our good friends Jodi and Kipp and their precious children joined us at Julio's and had a great time.  We had a fish fry on Saturday night, compliments of Uncle Charlie.  Of course a trip to Dallas would not be complete without shopping at Sam Moon! We wrapped up the weekend with a family dinner and much needed naps!  Thanks to everyone for making this weekend so special.

The Misadventures of Miss Sadie Cat

Alright, I don't have kids so my entertainment is my husband and my crazy cat that thinks she's a dog.  Here are a few snapshots of her finest moments.  Enjoy!

Excuse me....I'm trying to take a bath here

Lost in Cyber Space

For some reason my pics from the St. Paddy's Day didn't post.  I haven't been on my site in awhile, so I didn't notice until Chad pulled it up the other night.  Here is my second attempt.....hopefully I'll get this down soon!
