Ice-pocalypse 2011
I'm not sure what we Dallas-ites have done to deserve such weather, but we promise we will never do it again. Someone must be upset that we are hosting the northerners at the Death Star....um, I mean Jerry World....er....Cowboys Stadium. We would appreciate some sun if it can be spared, please. Five days of below freezing temps is just too much for us year-round sun bathers to handle. We are down to rolling blackouts, school closings for the 3rd day in a row, sheets of ice and staying warm by the light of our iPhone apps. SOS!!!

Louisiana Christmas
Whewwww.....am I glad the holidays are over! I guess that sounds bad...whewwww am I glad all that traveling is over! That's more like it. Riding in the car is not my fav thing these days and with both our families hours away there is nothing I can do about it.
We started the season off with Christmas at Chad's grandparents in good 'ol Simsboro, LA. Everyone was there and we had a great celebration. We had great food, opened wonderful presents and had a game of basketball going after our food settled. The baby and I sat this game out, but maybe next year. Thanks to everyone for such an amzaing holiday-we really look forward to next year!!

The Big Reveal
We were trying to think of a cute way we could let friends a family know the gender of baby Canterbury. We decided to deliver cupcakes to friends around town during the holidays and to family at Christmas. It was nice to be able to share the actual moment with those we love instead of telling everyone over the phone. I wish everyone was close enough to have delivered a cupcake to, but my baking skills have been pushed to the limit over the last month, so it's probably for the best! Whatever the method we were happy to share our news with you all.
Chad's cousins little girls (Kaleigh and Kamryn) are used to getting a cupcake when they see me. We have great decorating parties and Kamryn couldn't wait to dive into hers. I made blue and pink and everyone had to choose the color to the gender they thought it was. Inside each cupcake was a pink pacifier baked in....I hoped they wouldn't melt and they didn't!! It was so special to do it this way and we appreciate everyones patience while waiting to get their cupcake.
Michelle just had a little boy, Brooks, so we will be taking his application for our daughter's hand in marriage soon.
When we showed up at my friend Jodi's house her daughter was in the middle of playing princess. If you know Kella you know her fav color is blue, but to our amazement she chose a pink cupcake. I guess she wanted to make sure it coordinated with her dress. Choking hazard inside...we were all watching her closely as she eats hers.

The Name Game
Sooooo....Chad and I have been slowly whittling down our LOOOOONG list of names for our baby girl. We have finally decided on Peyton Grace Canterbury. I love this name AND her initials look cute monongrammed-very important for all you men out there to understand this! Hope everyone loves it as much as we do.

Baby's Got a Brand New Bag
Since my car, AKA "the cougar" is now 10 years old, we knew I would need to get an official "baby car" before our little girl arrived. We looked around a bit, but finally decided on a Ford Edge. I really love the blue tooth option for making phone calls, adjusting the temp and choosing what the radio is playing, just to name a few. It is my first brand new car so it's an exciting time!! I'm sure baby girl Canterbury will love it as much as I do.
Soooo excited about the big red bow!

It's A Girl!!
We had a wonderful visit at with our OB in December at 18 weeks. We knew we would be finding out if I was carrying a future Rockette or Soccer player from the way the baby has been moving around so much. We invited my parents and Chad's parents to enjoy the moment with us. When the Dr. got to the most important part she said, "there definitely aren't any boy parts there." It was very exciting to hear we were having a girl and we can't wait to meet her in May.
Our baby girl....what a cutie!!!

Look out Michelle Wie!
Top Golf is something Chad and I discovered in the last year or two. It'ss a driving range golf game that anyone can play. Beginners go to have a good time....novices go to show everyone up!
Here's how it works-you buy rounds of golf and they put your $$ on a card, you swipe your card for a bucket of balls, these balls have a chip inside and they are now registered to you, then you place your golf balls on the tee and it registers that you are hitting the ball. You get points by how far you can hit it into the bullseyes that are on the course. We went with Katie and Michael since the weather has been nice. Note to self....use a wooden tee....not that plastic thing they call a tee sticking out from under the mat.

I thought this pic was neat-it shows his backswing and him hitting the ball
